At 12:40am on November 13, the Williams Lake RCMP responded to a single vehicle crash on MacKenzie Avenue at 3rd Avenue South across from the Finning dealership.

The truck was unoccupied when police arrived, but members located the male driver a short time later.  He was then taken to Cariboo Memorial Hospital and treated for minor injuries.

A 90's model, Ford 3/4 ton, had been travelling south on MacKenzie Avenue when it drove into two consecutive power poles, which are approximately 125 feet apart, and came to rest up against a third power pole.  The first two poles shattered and left splinters and debris across both lanes of MacKenzie Avenue.  The main piece of the first pole impacted came to rest across the street and past the second power pole impacted.

Many residents in various areas of Williams Lake reported that their power flickered, while others reported a complete power outage that lasted for several hours.

The Williams Lake RCMP believe alcohol may be a contributing factor, but the investigation is ongoing.
