100 Mile House RCMP highlights to March 8, 2010100 Mile House RCMP responded to 75 complaints and calls for service over the last week. Some highlights are below.

On March 1, 100 Mile House RCMP were following up on a matter when they came a residential grow operation in the 4000 block of Lac la Hache Station Road. A little over 100 marijuana plants were seized along with related marijuana growing equipment.

RCMPshield_crest2100 Mile House RCMP responded to 63 complaints and calls for service over the last week. 

On February 24, 100 Mile Traffic Services and 100 Mile House RCMP  responded to a collision between a 4-wheel ATV and a tree.  The alleged driver was transported to hospital with non life threatening injuries.  The ATV was determined to have been reported stolen from the 108 Mile Ranch in December of 2009.  The driver was released from hospital and issued an appearance notice for possession of stolen property with a court date of May 2010.

RCMPshield_crest2100 Mile House RCMP responded to 65 complaints and calls for service over the last week.

On February 15, 100 Mile House RCMP responded to a trailer fire in the Deka Lake area at the request of the Deka Lake Fire Department. A trailer had been engulfed in flames and a body was located while the fire was being fought. The Coroner's Office, Fire Investigators and Identification Services were dispatched to assist. The deceased was transported to Kamloops for autopsy. The cause of death is believed to be smoke inhalation, and foul play is not suspected. The deceased is believed to be the owner of the trailer, however, investigators have been unable to contact the next of kin. The investigation into this matter is continuing.

RCMPshield_crest2100 Mile House RCMP responded to 57 complaints and calls for service over the last week. 

On February 8, 100 Mile House RCMP received a complaint that an unlocked vehicle parked in the wallet, along with various identification and money were missing.  Police are reminding residents not to leave valuables in unsecured vehicles.

Several communities in the Cariboo region are benefiting from close to $1.2 million through the Job Opportunities Program for five fuel management and beetle fall and burn projects, announced Cariboo-Chilcotin MLA Donna Barnett on behalf of Community and Rural Development Minister Bill Bennett.

RCMPshield_crest2100 Mile House RCMP responded to 51 complaints and calls for service over the last week. 

On February 1, 100 Mile House RCMP pulled a vehicle over for driving erratically.  The driver was determined to be sober.  Further queries revealed that the male passenger was determined to be on a no-contact order with the female driver.  The male occupant was arrested and returned to the detachment.  The male was later released and is scheduled for a court appearance in March.  A charge of Breach of Undertaking has been recommended to Crown Counsel against a 24 year old resident of Prince George.

PostHeaderIcon ATV rider goes through the ice on Lac La Hache

RCMPshield_crest2On February 3 at 4:31pm 100 Mile House RCMP received a call of a male who had been operating his All Terrain Vehicle on Lac La Hache near Abbey Frontage Road.

The caller stated they heard a crack and noticed the rider had disappeared through the ice. The caller was unable to get close enough to the rider to pull him to safety as the ice was weak in spots and there was open water where the rider went into the lake.

PostHeaderIcon Police investigate arson to outbuilding in Quesnel

RCMPshield_crest2Shortly after 3:00am on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 Quesnel RCMPand Quesnel Fire Department were called to a structural fire in the 500 block of Edkins Road.  

Police and fire personnel attended to find an outbuilding on the property fully engulfed in flames.  Fire crews extinguished the flames and the RCMP held the scene through the night.  Police and fire investigators returned to the scene later that morning to conduct further investigation.

RCMP100 Mile House RCMP responded to 68 complaints and calls for service over the last week. Some of the highlights are below. 

On January 25th, 100 Mile House RCMP responded to a residential fire at Lakeshore drive, Horse Lake. 100 Mile, 108 Mile and Lone Butte Fire Department were already on scene fighting the fire. The residence was completely engulfed and there was no one in the residence at the time of the fire. The fire has been determined to not be suspicious by Fire Investigators.

PostHeaderIcon Additional Charges laid in relation with the murder of Adam Williams

RCMPshield_crest2Prince George E-Division Major Crime Section has continued to investigate the murder of 13 year old Adam Williams.

An evidence package was completed and forwarded to Prince George Crown Counsel. Crown Counsel has approved the charges of Failure to Provide Necessities of Life and Indignity to Human Remains against Adam’s mother, Judy Elaina Williams, aged 49, of Prince George, BC. Judy Williams was released by police and will be attending court in Prince George on February 3, 2010.

RCMPshield_crest2At about 3:50pm on January 19th, 2010 a Caucasian male, 40-50 years of age was observed following a young female along Valhalla Road in Quesnel, BC. The male was driving a newer model black van without rear side windows. The male followed the female for approximately 5 minutes, and attempted to engage her in conversation. He is described as being 300lbs, about 6' tall with short curly brown hair and a brown and grey beard. He was last seen wearing a red plaid zip-up jacket.

Anyone who may have information regarding the above incident, or the identity of the male is asked to contact Quesnel RCMP at , or CrimeStoppers at 250-992-TIPS (8477).
