Fire crews respond to cardboard fire at Boston Pizza tonight

Fire crews and RCMP are at what appears to be a small fire in an exterior, enclosed area at Boston Pizza on Donald Road currently.
Firefighters can be seen pulling cardboard boxes from the area where the some had been coming from. Fire crews appear to have the incident under control. What appears to be a gas meter is located very close to the affected area. Fortis Gas is also on scene.
Two staff members have told Got News Network Inc. photographer that kitchen staff noticed a strong smoke smell at shift change, about 4:30pm. When they went to investigate, there were flames approximately 8-9 feet tall coming from the 'box room', which is where cardboard is stored for recycling. This area is also the hotel guest smoking area.
The staff quickly alerted the 20 or so customers in the restaurant at the time, and ushered them outside while calls were made to 911.
There were no injuries as a result of this fire.
