RCMPshield_crest2100 Mile House RCMP responded to 65 complaints and calls for service over the last week.

On February 15, 100 Mile House RCMP responded to a trailer fire in the Deka Lake area at the request of the Deka Lake Fire Department. A trailer had been engulfed in flames and a body was located while the fire was being fought. The Coroner's Office, Fire Investigators and Identification Services were dispatched to assist. The deceased was transported to Kamloops for autopsy. The cause of death is believed to be smoke inhalation, and foul play is not suspected. The deceased is believed to be the owner of the trailer, however, investigators have been unable to contact the next of kin. The investigation into this matter is continuing.

On February 15, 100 Mile House RCMP and 100 Mile Traffic Services responded to a disturbance at Bridge Creek Place. The driver of a Toyota pick-up allegedly became involved in a dispute with two residents after the driver drove over their lawn. The driver left the area and was stopped a short distance away. The driver was determined to be impaired and was detained. At the detachment, two breath samples of 180 and 160 mg% were obtained. Charges of Impaired Driving Over The Legal Limit are being recommended to Crown against a 41 year old resident of Clinton. No charges are being sought as a result of the altercation.

On February 18, 100 Mile House RCMP executed a search warrant under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act on a property in the Forest Grove area. Marijuana production equipment and 151 marijuana plants were seized. The owner of the property was arrested the following day at the property. A charge of Production of Marijuana is being recommended to Crown against a 35 year old resident of the Lower Mainland.

On February 19, 100 Mile House RCMP responded to a break and enter complaint at a residence on Keene Road. Entry was gained through a back window. Some cash was taken. The investigation into this matter is continuing.

On February 19, 100 Mile House RCMP responded to a single vehicle collision on Exeter Road. The vehicle left the road and suffered substantial damage. The driver, and sole occupant of the vehicle, was determined to be impaired by alcohol. The driver was returned to the detachment where two breath readings of 160 and 150 mg% were obtained. Charges of Impaired Driving and Driving Over The Legal Limit are being recommended to Crown against a 24 year old resident of 100 Mile House.

On February 21, 100 Mile House RCMP responded to a dumpster fire behind Save-On. 100 Mile Fire Department was already on scene and had extinguished the fire. The investigation into this incident is continuing.
