The first weekend of Spring Break, the Bantam girls team travelled to 100 Mile for the ‘Attitude on Ice’ all-girls tournament, where they had two wins , one loss, and played in the final game against Kamloops to whom they’d previously lost.  However, the girls played their hearts out and won 3-1, taking home the gold medal for the Bantam division.

The last weekend of Spring Break, the Bantam girls team travelled to Richmond for the ‘Ice Classic’ all-girls tournament which hosted over 70 teams of the various divisions.  The girls easily won their pool and played Richmond, the winner of the other pool in the final game.   This was their third year these girls had made it this far.  The previous two years they took home silver medals.   Although this final game wasn’t an easy win, they did manage to take home their first gold medal from Richmond.  The game proved to be a challenge.  The first period ended in a 1-1 tie; the second ended 2-1 for our team.  Late in the third, Richmond pulled their goalie and our team scored, and scored once more before the end of the very exciting game.  The girls brought home a trophy, a banner and look forward to displaying it at the arena. 

"Our girls teams tend to lose in the house mixed league throughout the year; however, it just goes to show you, that this only makes them stronger players when they play against their peers.  What a great way to end their hockey season!"
