News and event information for Williams Lake, BC - as it happens.

The Williams Lake Minor Hockey Association, along with Participaction BC are hosting a ‘Hockey! TRY IT!’ event this weekend.

This event has been created for anyone, of any age, that has ever wanted to try hockey, but never had a chance.

It is completely free and includes a few hours of simple on ice drills and games for kids (young and old) to try. “There are several different youth and adult leagues in town, so this is a no pressure, no cost chance for people to give the sport a try,” said Karen Chabot , Initiation Coordinator with Williams Lake Minor Hockey.

It takes place Saturday, September 29 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at the Cariboo Memorial Complex, as well as Sunday from 9:00am until  10:30am. “It is completely free,” explains Karen.  “ All people need is some hockey gear, and there is even some loaner gear available.”
