Letters - Letter to the Editor

letter_editorEditor,

We have heard many comments and rumors about the merchants and businesses at Boitanio Mall in Williams Lake.

The rumour about Boitanio mall being torn down and redeveloped in to senior and low cost housing is not true.

Boitanio Mall is not closing.
Boitanio Mall has not been sold and is not for sale.

The Landlord, Janda Group, is actively working on securing a new anchor tenant to replace Zellers that is scheduled to close next year in March 2013.

The existing merchants will continue to serve the shopper of Williams Lake and the surrounding area.  The landlord and management have an obligation to our merchants and the shopping public to maintain a welcoming, safe and comfortable shopping experience.  With the continued support of the stakeholders, merchants and shoppers we will be able to renew the shopping centre into a dynamic and unique location in the heart of the city.

We welcome leasing inquiries, to get more information on leasing a commercial retail unit please contact Jeanette Tuerlings at the mall administration office for a tour of spaces and leasing rates.  We offer competitive rental rates at fair market value to qualified lessees.
