Proud to pose in purple.

On Wednesday November 28, 2012 the Women's Contact Society will be at Thompson Rivers University promoting their Purple Ribbon Campaign. The campaign has been put forward to help stop domestic violence, and help those who suffer from it. Participants of the Women's Job Readiness Program will be giving out buttons and attaching handmade feather pieces to volunteers’ hair to symbolize purple ribbons that represent anti-violence.  The buttons and hairpieces are intended to spread the word of the campaign and inform the public about this ongoing problem. The campaign is designed to teach people about domestic violence and that there are ways to recognize it and prevent it from happening to others. The Women’s Contact Society will be on Student Street between 9:00 - 11:00 am. Everyone is encouraged to participate.

On a quest to Quesnel.

On Thursday November 5, Thompson Rivers University North participated in Career Leap in Quesnel. The University set up a display booth and provided information to prospective students. TRU North seems to be a destination favorite to many northerners. Prospects are excited the Williams Lake campus is expanding and obtaining more and more programs. Free prizes aside, the participants were eager to ask questions about programs and university life! High school teachers were excited to see TRU North represented at the event and were pleased so see their students engaged.
