Because a piercing gun can not be sterilized in an Autoclave, and can cause blunt tissue trauma, you can be put at ease knowing that a new, one-time-use piercing needle is the cleanest, and most pain free way to be pierced.

Being pierced with a needle allows respect for the human circulatory system, and hitting nerves can be avoided to prevent severe and un-needed pain to the client. The needle is hollow and very sharp. It moves quickly throughout the skin, pushing the tissue aside to make room for the jewellery to be inserted. The process is very quick and painless if done properly.

Besides being an expert in the proper steps to a great piercing, Raylene guarantees she takes all precautions in preventing cross-contamination. Her instruments are taken to the highest level of sterilization, and she firmly believes that anything that touches a customer and can not be put into the autoclave, must be discarded safely. An autoclave is a steam heat sterilizer, and is the top piercing sterilization method in the industry. It will also be found in hospitals and dental clinics. The way to disinfect with the Autoclave is to take the implements used for piercing and scrub them with an antibacterial solution and then put them into a soak called BM28.

After the soak, the implements are rinsed off and put into Isopropyl Alcohol for 10 minutes. This step removes water from the hinges to avoid matter build-up in the autoclave. Next, the tools are packaged separately into sterile tubing and sealed with an iron or heat compress and put into the autoclave for 15 minutes, making them completely clean and ready for the next piercing.
