The Williams Lake Farmer’s Market is back and Scout Island Nature Centre is having a Yard and Plant Sale – both clear indications that it’s time to start the gardening season:

The Williams Lake Farmer’s Market is back in Boitanio Park from 9:00am to 2:00pm on Fridays. They have many wonderful local products, including baked goods, canning, fresh local produce, crafts, lunch, and much more.

New at the Cariboo Growers Market today: bags of fresh basil, mizuna and arugula from Mackin Creek, with carrots arriving on Tuesday.

Friday April 20
The Williams Lake Indoor Rodeo is back at the Cariboo Memorial Recreation Complex this weekend, April 20 to 22. Friday April 20, the rodeo will begin at 6:00pm, then begins at 1:00pm on both Saturday and Sunday. The ticket office is open at Boitanio Mall. Call 250-398-3334 for ticket information.

There are multiple learning and growing opportunities this week, including a Domestic Violence Workshop, Bowl for Kids’ Sake, and an Autism Support Lunch and Walk:
Friday April 13
Maranatha Christian School presents a “Courtly Dinner Theatre,” an adult fundraising event, on Friday April 13 and 14 at 6:00pm each evening. Tickets are $15.00 and are available at Maranatha Christian School. Donations will be collected at the event for the students’ trip to Europe in the spring of 2013. The evening will centre around a performance of the comedy “Twinderella”. Call 250-392-7410 for more information.

There is a 10:00am Good Friday service at Cariboo Bethel Church today. The service is inter-denominational and there will be seven different Williams Lake pastors speaking. There’s plenty to do this week, including a Lioness Club sale, homeopathy discussion, a financial literacy class, and a bluegrass concert:
Friday March 30
There will be a fiddle concert and dance this evening with Gordon Stobbe and JJ Guy from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at The Longhouse. Admission is free for those who participated in their three-day workshop and for kids under 12 years old. Public admission is $10.00.
