Tailgate thefts in Prince George prompt warning
| News |
Prince George RCMP is warning pick-up truck owners to lock their tailgates in the wake of five reported thefts in the last 24 hours.
On February 6th, 2013, at least five tailgates have been stolen off of pick-up trucks parked in various parking lots throughout the City. The reported thefts occurred from morning to late in the evening at parking lots located at the College of New Caledonia (2), the University of Northern BC, Prince George Secondary School and CN Centre. Late model Dodge, Ford and Toyota pick-ups have been targeted.
Given the weight and size of these tailgates, more than one person is likely responsible for the thefts and a vehicle is likely being used. The investigation into these thefts is continuing.
The Prince George RCMP is requesting all pick-up truck owners keep their tailgates locked at all times.
If you have any information about these thefts or who might be responsible, please contact the Prince George RCMP at (250)561-3300 or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1(800)222-8477, online at www.pgcrimestoppers.bc.ca (English only), or Text-A-Tip to CRIMES (274637) using keyword 'pgtips'.
