John Dube, the local service representative for the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 882-B, has advised that a meeting which concluded late this evening has resulted in a tentative deal between the union and the City of Williams Lake.

"The picket lines will come down, effective immediately and all unionized employees will be back on the job by Thursday," explained Mr. Dube.

"Now our membership will look over the agreement as soon as possible, it has to be ratified and then signed, and then it's business as usual."

Mr. Dube explained that the mediator did a good job. "He explained that there had to be some movement so we could all move forward."

"The union is glad to know that our people are going back to work."
