Williams Lake RCMP respond to auto thefts, attempted theft of ATV, graffiti and vandalism and assisted multiple fire departments - August 17-19, 2012.Over the weekend Williams Lake RCMP Detachment members responded to approximately 75 calls for service.  Nature of calls ranged from disturbances, assaults, motor vehicle incidents and assistance to the general public.  Incidents of significance attended are noted below:

On August 18 at 9:00am, Williams Lake RCMP received a complaint of a quad having been moved from a residence overnight on Mann Road. The quad was located in a neighbor’s driveway and there was no apparent damage.

Later the same day, police responded to a report of a break and enter at Lagerquist Road in McLeese Lake. Police attended and found front door kicked in.  Nothing was taken and no suspects were identified.

At approximately 5:15pm Saturday evening, the Williams Lake Fire Department requested assistance at 83 2nd Avenue South for a small fire in the parking lot.  Police attended and found four individuals sitting in the parking lot with a burned pizza box.  They all claim that they found the box on fire and put it out. No damage was done and all parties left the area without incident.

On Sunday, August 19 just before 2:00am, RCMP were dispatched to 845 11th Avenue North for a report of a mischief in progress at that location. Upon arrival at the Poplar Glade School site police did not find anyone in the area, but observed a considerable amount of graffiti to the concrete wall. Patrols were made in the area, but no suspects were identified or located. The School District 27 office was notified of the mischief.

On Sunday, August 19 at 4:45am, a request to assist the Forest Service came in when a motor home caught fire at Hen Ingram Lake Recreation Site. Police attended and confirmed that everyone had made it out of the vehicle uninjured. The owners of the motor home were in the area on holidays from Washington. The fire started in the fridge and spread quickly, engulfing and dedtrying the entire RV.  Some trees nearby were also scorched.
