Allison Ruault issues final challenge for Council
| News |
Allison Ruault, Acute Health Services Administrator for Interior Health was one of the delegations at tonight's City Council meeting. She is retiring soon, and said it was her last time doing delegations for Williams Lake, and that her presence here tonight was 'bitter/sweet.'

She said that staffing levels have stabilized at the hospital, although an ultra sound technician is still being sought, and that on the acute care side, nurse recruitment is still an issue. She also stated that local physicians recently hosted an internist in a recruitment maneuver.
"I want to take off my administrative hat and talk about health care issues that are close to my heart. The whole aspect of health has always been my passion.
"Our health care needs to be more proactive than reactive and I think the new Diabetes Collaborative is a good example of this," she said.
"My challenge to leave you with is this: how can we sustain our health care? The health focus should about be part of what you're dealing with. Things like accessibility and mobility (including things like snow plowing) are things that are all about health and things that you can impact your community as elected officials."
She was warmly congratulated on her retirement by acting Mayor and Councillor Ivan Bonnell.
