| News |
RCMP Commissioner Bob Paulson recognized the bravery and outstanding service of a number of BC RCMP police officers and members of the public at a June 26th award ceremony held at BC RCMP Headquarters.

Commissioner’s Commendations were given for bravery to six members of the RCMP and seven members of the public. In considering these members for the award, the Commissioner felt that they demonstrated outstanding courage in the face of extremely dangerous and volatile situations which are not commonly encountered in routine police work and which posed an imminent threat of grievous harm, personal injury or death. The civilians recognized during the award ceremony were also honoured for having rendered outstanding assistance to these RCMP members while demonstrating courage and bravery under hazardous and exceptional conditions.
The Commissioner also recognized 10 police officers, one of them a member of the Transit Police, for outstanding service in that their actions were exceptionally innovative, unique and went far beyond that which would be expected from an experienced person doing the same task(s).
"I am proud to be here to recognize the bravery these RCMP members and civilians have shown in extremely dangerous situations. I want to highlight the impact the work of these members have had nationally and internationally," said Commissioner Paulson. "The RCMP is Canada’s and BC’s police force. The dedication and outstanding work of these members and all the men and women who are policing our communities are testament to that," he added.
