Local man sustains serious injuries in ultra light crash near Chimney Lake

A local man sustained serious injuries after the ultralight aircraft that he was piloting near Chimney Lake crashed Saturday afternoon.
The man was flown to Vancouver General Hospita for medical attention. The aircraft caught fire, but it is not yet known if that occurred after impact or if it contributed to the crash.
When this story was orignially posted on our Facebook page on Saturday evening, one reader posted, "I'm so heartbroken for him. I've known him many years and consider him like family. Sending lots of prayers and requests for a good recovery."
The investigation is being conducted by the Transportation Safety Board.
