Local judo coach to compete at Nationals

Jeff DiMarco will travel to Toronto, Ontario to compete at the Canadian Judo National Championships on July 7. DiMarco has been practicing Judo for twenty five years, two years of that was spent training in Japan which is where Judo originated. In addition to practicing judo, he has been coaching for twelve years.

DiMarco has represented British Columbia nine times at National Championships and has competed in two World Masters Competitions that were held in Toronto and Brussels, Belgium.
“I am looking forward to competing at Nationals. I’m in the master’s division so I get to fight people my age, for a change” says DiMarco. “Hopefully my conditioning is up to snuff”
Judo is a self-paced martial art that can bepractice at any level; whether participants want to join judo to get a great workout while meeting new people, or to compete provincially, nationally or even internationally. DiMarco runs the Williams Lake Judo Club that is located at 360B North Mackenzie Avenue. Practices will resume in September.
