022612_t-wolves_homeThe Williams Lake Pee Wee rep hockey team hosted Prince George this weekend in a best-of-three series to see who goes to the Provincial Championships. Friday afternoon saw the T-Wolves come out of the gate very slowly and fall behind 4-0 at the end of the first period. A big second period by the T-Wolves drew them even after 40 minutes at 5-5.

The T-Wolves went ahead 6-5 late in the game, but PG was able to even the game with only two minutes left. After overtime solved nothing the teams went to a shoot out. Hayden Lyons stopped all three shooters he faced in the shoot-out and Trey Thomas scored the only goal of the shoot-out giving the T-Wolves a dramatic 7-6 win.

Trey Thomas had a big game for the T-Wolves---on top of scoring in the shoot-out he had three goals in regulation time. William Paynton also chipped in with one goal and three assists.  Other goals were scored by Cody Swan and Dawson Billyboy.

In the second game Saturday morning the T-Wolves came out flying and piled the goals on early with a very solid team effort. Williams Lake opened a 7-1 lead by the end of the second period and held on for a 7-3 victory.  The victory clinched the berth in the provincial championships for the T-Wolves.

Brett Alexander scored two goals and added an assist, William Paynton had one goal and three assists, Dane DuBois had one goal and one assist and other goals were scored by Lane Wycotte, Trey Thomas and Dawson Billyboy.

The T-Wolves now start getting ready for the Provincial Championships in Penticton in March.
