Hundreds of people packed Williams Lake downtown core for the 18th Annual Lakers Car Club Spring Round-up. Hot cars were met with even hotter weather as enthusiasts from across BC and parts of Canada and the United States traveled to Williams Lake.
Potter says the event has grown immensely since the first of its kind years ago.

If you didn’t know, you might think you’re on vacation – the island beats and beachy clothes are convincing, but this is the next best thing to a Hawaiian holiday – this is Cheralyn’s Polynesian Dance Studio in 100 Mile House. The students learn authentic movement and behind the music is Cheralyn herself, a woman with a true passion for the islands.
Among the dancers is Randi Poitras – one of Gent’s star students. She says with each dance comes a different story about the Hawaiian people and their way of life, she even travelled to Hawaii with Gent’s family.
High school students participate in chemistry contest at TRU

Things go boom, flash, splash and make vibrant colours. The chemistry lab at TRU in Williams Lake is always a good place to find students with an interest in all things chemistry.
Cranberry juice drips slowly into a beaker, filtered and ready for an experiment. But these students aren’t in university, they’re still in high school, getting their feet wet in science.

A load is picked up, dropped in and dumped out. What looks like any day at the Centennial Gravel Pit just outside Williams Lake is actually far from it.
The people sitting inside these mighty machines aren't experienced operators, they’re high school students, and this is not a job site on this day, but a classroom. It’s called Heavy Metal Rocks; students learn from experienced industry professionals from the area.
