Over the long weekend, police responded to in excess of 100 calls for service ranging from the usual nuisance, cause a disturbance, intoxication and theft complaints. The incidents below are some of the more significant complaints responded to.
On Oct 5 at 3:30am, Williams Lake RCMP responded to a complaint of a stabbing that was said to have happened inside a residence on Western Avenue. Upon police arrival a group of individuals were at the front entrance. Another male sitting on the couch in the residence ran to kitchen to evade police and tried grabbing a kitchen knife. This male was identified and arrested for Breach of Peace. He was found to be highly intoxicated and depressed had been arguing with mother. While in the residence investigating this disturbance they located a small marijuana grow operation. This matter is still under investigation.

In Williams Lake, police responded to approximately 75 calls for service over the weekend.
On September 29 at 2:15am, police attended a residence on Broughton Place where fire crews were putting out a vehicle fire. Police located located a male acting suspiciously nearby who, after further investigation, was taken into custody and suspected for being responsible for the fire. The police investigation is continuing and charges are pending.

On September 29 at 7:55am, RCMP member responded to complaint of a vehicle that had its drivers side window smashed out over night. Nothing was reported to be stolen, a small rock was found inside of the truck which was likely used to break window. The vehicle was in a parked at a garage on Mackenzie Ave North for mechanical repairs.

Over the weekend Police responded to approximately 65 calls for service ranging from assaults to erratic drivers, disturbances, and thefts. On September 22 at approximately 8:30am, Williams Lake police responded to a complaint that someone threw a rock through the rear window of a Chrysler 300 rear window parked on Boundary Street overnight. The rock was found inside the vehicle. Police are following up with investigation of the incident.
Also on September 22 at 6:00pm, police responded to a single vehicle rollover that occurred on Likely Road near Beaver Valley Road. Police attended and located the 2007 Chevy Cobalt unoccupied and on its roof in a ditch. The driver was already out of the vehicle and had been picked up by a passerby. He was taken to Hospital in Williams Lake for treatment. The car appears to have lost control and went off the roadway. The vehicle was not towed as it was not obstructing traffic. Police confirmed with the hospital that the driver did not sustain any serious injury and had been discharged.

The Williams Lake RCMP provide a weekly report to local media outlining complaints and calls for service from the previous week.
January 6, 2012
Impaired/Refusal
A driver made an illegal turn in front of a marked police vehicle. The investigation revealed that the driver had been drinking. An approved screening demand was made and the driver refused to provide samples of his breath.
The vehicle was towed and the police are recommending charges of refusal.
Assault
A female reported that her male roommate had assaulted her. Investigation did not surface evidence to support charges.
Alcohol was a factor in this incident.
