The impact caused by Williams Lake’s ‘Kids Running for Kids’ continues to reverberate throughout the province, now that CN Miracle Match has offered to continue to match funds raised by the kids until the end of August.

One of the highlights on the run in locations from Williams Lake to Vancouver was a two-day stay at Kumsheen Rafting Resort, just outside of Lytton, where the kids were welcomed with ‘open arms.’

“The kids had a blast--there were all kinds of activities for them to do in their ‘down time,’” said Sue Kennedy, who has a son who benefits from care at Children’s Hospital and whose four kids are in the group. “There was a pool and hot tub, a giant checkers board, a volleyball pit, basketball court, tetherball, disc golf and mountain bike trails.”

BC Children's Hospital Foundation said that KRFK is the first group of its kind to work with them and wanted to make their fundraising project assuccessful as possible and hooked the kids up with CN Miracle Match, “I think they realized what great kids these are--they are an inspiration to others.” Sue said.

She explained that the mayor in Harrison gave them one of their favourite ‘quotes’ on their journey, when he told his community to ‘dig deep into those pockets and support his group because even a tiny amount can make a big difference.’

“It would be incredible to raise a few thousand more dollars by the end of August,” she said. “Our online donation link is still up and running!” www.bcchf.ca/kidsrunningforkids
