Human interest

062812_pipers_rotaryThe Williams Lake Daybreak Rotary Club came forward recently with generous and enthusiastic support for the Williams Lake Pipe Band, to the ‘Highlands tune’ of $1,000. This support is helping to send band members to the annual piping school put on by the Simon Fraser University Pipe Band.

The Williams Lake Pipe Band works to keep Highland music, culture and tradition alive throughout the Cariboo, performing for parades, special events, weddings, memorial services, Celtic music and dance celebrations, the Relay for Life, graduations, anniversaries and more.

The band is immensely thankful to the support by Daybreak Rotary Club, stating that this kind of help makes all the difference in the world.
