The school’s current total this afternoon is $10,117.43, with more coming in, according to teacher and event organizer Rae Perry. She explained that the students compete to be the highest pledge earner for Jump Rope for Heart, not only because the cause is close to their hearts, but because of the chance to win the highly-coveted ‘Principal for a Day’ and ‘Vice Principal for a Day’ award.

Dallas and Olivia are the high-pledge winners again this year, with Dallas destined for the Principal’s chair with $1,295, and Olivia headed for the Vice Principal’s seat with $1,018.

“One of the tasks of the young Vice Principal and Principal is doing a coffee run for the teachers, and when Olivia and Dallas have their day to ‘rule the school’, we’re getting coffee from Starbucks in Safeway,” Rae Perry explained.

Cataline Elementary School has raised more funds online than any school in the Nicola Cariboo regions, with over $2,000 in online pledges.
