Jim has spent the last 27 years working for credit unions and the credit union system in Saskatchewan. Holding increasingly more responsible positions over the years, he held the role of Chief Executive Officer in Biggar, Whitewood and Debden, and worked as a Contract Manager for Saskatchewan Central Credit Union.

Jim will be leaving his current position as Regional Vice President at Innovation Credit Union to join Williams Lake and District Credit Union. Speaking of his new appointment, Jim notes, "In 2012 the Credit Union will be celebrating 60 years of service. Staff, Members and Board have a lot to celebrate and should be very proud of their track record of dividends and community support. These are true signs of the cooperative spirit at work. I look forward to joining a winning team."

Jim has been actively involved in the communities he has resided in, sitting on the boards of many local organizations. He participates in a number of outdoor activities, making the move to the Williams Lake area an appealing one. Jim states that he and his family also look forward to getting to know all the friends they have not met yet.

Speaking on behalf of the Board of Directors, Chair John Morton says, "We are very pleased to be welcoming Jim Zimmerman and his family to Williams Lake. We believe that Jim's extensive Credit Union background and community involvement in Saskatchewan make him an excellent fit for our organization and community. We have had strong leadership from Fred Wagner for the past seven years, and we are confident that Jim will maintain and build our Credit Union from its  well-established base."

Commenting on the recruitment process, Mr. Morton states, "I also want to recognize the outstanding work of Leanne Macnair, who led our Executive Search team, and the support which we received from Central 1 Credit Union People Solutions."
