Billy Feistmantl from 'Green Sisters Natural Health and Beauty' brings a belief in the healing power of nature and a passion for helping people feel and look their best to every product she creates and every customer she meets.

‘Green Sisters Natural Health and Beauty’ is a business based in 108 Ranch and is expanding to areas throughout BC, including Williams Lake, Quesnel and Kamloops.

She has pure, natural products that support beauty from the inside out, helping with things like skin problems, toe health, ear infections and colds and congestion. Health and beauty are definitely connected, according to Billy, who added that when you’re healthy on the inside, it shows on the outside.

“I make beauty products to make your skin healthy and glowing--moisturizers, lip balm, cleansers, toners, massage oils, body scrubs and body butters,” she said. “Based on requests from my clients, I also have shampoo and conditioner coming soon.”

She said that the name of the company is in honor of all native people around the globe who are still living in harmony with our Mother Earth. “They call all plants ‘our green sisters,’ and those sisters are the ingredients for our products,” she explained.

Currently working on a new sun lotion, an after-sun roll-on and tanning oils, Billy said that they’re great summer products. “My sunscreen is a natural mineral product with Shea butter, grapeseed and coconut—it protects from sun rays and moisturizes—I make it in a 15 and a 30 SPF,” she continued. “The after-sun roll-on has aloe vera, lavender, Sandalwood and rose: it’s soothing and lovely.”

Billy also has an all-natural bug spray made with cedarwood and citrus. She noted that the bugs don’t like the smell, and that the spray also takes away the itch and swelling if you do have a bite.

Billy has been based at 108 Ranch for three years and is currently working on her education as an Aromatherapist, Herbalist, Ayurveda and Life Consultant. She is a Reiki practitioner as well as a musician and artist. She also wrote a cookbook with easy recipes that everyone can use to create healthy meals. With her husband Tiger and their two daughters, she says that she has lived in BC in harmony with Mother Earth since 2004.

She said that when she lived in Austria she had the opportunity to work with a gifted herbalist who had an impact on her life and on her career. “I learned to make infusions and creams. He was an older man—very experienced and passionate about his work. I loved the peacefulness and the relaxed atmosphere—he taught me how to put love into every mixture and every potion. He treated people as individuals and cared about every single one.

“I learned a love of nature and the earth, and that for every disease there is something that nature can do to help,” she said.

“He made me want to do this for the rest of my life. When I moved to Canada I wanted to create a niche for myself, making high-quality natural products that are pure in the ingredients and pure in the making.”

051612_green_sisters_billy_jarsShe explained that the oils that she uses are charged with moonlight, crystals and Reiki, adding that they are powerful and long-lasting.   “When you use these products, your skin changes, and when you become accustomed to them, you cannot tolerate a ‘shelf cream’ on your skin. Your skin is a living organ—the largest one in your body. Our air is polluted with chemicals, dirt and dust and our skin responds to purity and to good treatment,” she continued.

“It means the world to me to see people getting relief and feeling better. People really love the chickweed cream—it works for kids with eczema, for shingles, hives, break-outs and flaky skin.

“People say things like, ‘This worked so well for me,’ and ‘I love it.’”

She said that people can buy Green Sisters online through her website, at the Hobbit House in Williams Lake, at the Higher Ground health food store in 100 Mile Store, and will be able to get them soon at the Green Tree health food store in Quesnel, the Country Peddler in Interlakes and will also soon be available in Kamloops.

051612_green_sisters_hobbitCustomer service is number one for Billy, who said that honesty is a big key for success. She said that her goal is to help you find something that really works for you.

“My customers always get excited to see the new products I’m coming up with---I get ideas and inspiration when my customers tell me what they’d love to see.

“More and more people are concerned with the air they breathe, the food they eat, what they put on their bodies and what happens to the environment—it’s becoming more ‘mainstream,’” she said.

“Organic and natural products are often much more expensive, but I try to make the prices reasonable and affordable so that anyone can use them. I believe that nature is for everyone.”
