Wiseowl Toys celebrates ten years

Jim and Sandy Fehr are celebrating the tenth anniversary of their store WiseOwl Toys.
WiseOwl Toys was started when the economy in Williams Lake was not especially strong. Gibraltar Mines was not operating, the mills were not hiring at the time and with Jim having to work with a contractor, he was away for weeks at a time. Searching for a way to have their family together, Jim attended a course at Community Futures Development Corporation of the Cariboo Chilcotin (CFDC) to learn how to start a business.

Fulfilling a dream she’s always had, Darla Paterson recently opened Williams Lake’s newest fashion boutique, where shoppers can find unique and trendy items.
“I love clothing, and always thought that Williams Lake needed some new and unique items,” Darla said.
Darla Wear is one of only two distributers in Canada of the ‘Japrag’ blue jean line, which she describes as a good quality jean that fit snug no matter what your shape is.

Shields celebrates 40 years in Williams Lake

Shields Brake and Muffler is having a customer appreciation day today from 11:00am untl 2:00pm, to celebrate their 40th Anniversary.
Founded in 1972 by current owner Ray Shields' father, Shields Brake and Muffler was originally located on Mackenzie Avenue in what is now the Town Taxi building.

Opening day for Cariboo Chiropractic Medical Centre

Yesterday was opening day at the new Cariboo Chiropractic Medical Centre. Dr. Michael Bos and his staff have opened their elegant new facility on 3rd Avenue next to 7-Eleven. The facility space has grown from 1,700 square feet in the old location to 4,350 in the new one, and the staff has more than doubled.

The former Hollywood Video store has been utterly transformed into an urban, professional building with offices, chiropractic, medical and registered massage therapy treatment rooms, an x-ray room, an infared sauna, a gym, a play area for kids and a spacious reception area.
Taylor-made delights coming soon to Williams Lake

The building next to M&M Meats is undergoing significant transformation—from an antiques retail space to a custom bake shop. Brenda, Dale, Abi and Benn Taylor have all been hard at work at stages during the renovations, as have Brenda’s sister, Janice and her dad, Don Baxter.

Visitors and prospective tenants had the opportunity today to meet the front line ‘face’ at Mackenzie Business Centre. Receptionist Meghan Ford greeted guests and provided tours and information about the new facility, which has 10 new office spaces for rent.
Doggie Den: rolling out the welcome mat for your dog

'Doggie Den' on Dog Creek Road is now welcoming four-footed friends for drop in or full time day care. Owner operator Laura Cunningham has opened the doors of her new facility, which includes indoor and outdoor play areas, great toys and healthy treats.
